Marlow

A private detective with ties to the Mafia, Marlow arrived in Phoenix to investigate the disappearances of the kindred. Despite her apprehensions and reservations, Nott and Marlow began a romantic relationship. The pair worked together to look into Grandmother's involvement, as well as her possible locations within the city. Nott revealed a great deal of her history, her derangement (even allowing him to see Caine), and her fears. He helped to soothe her and keep her from raging too much destruction on the city. It was the first time in a long while that she had felt accepted and loved by someone.

However, Marlow's sire appeared in Phoenix, still holding resentment against him for past crimes and grievances (which he never divulged in detail to Nott.) He arranged a meeting with his sire, not informing Selene of this, or even of the possibility that something could happen to him.

She returned one evening to their shared apartment, finding no trace of him. It wasn't until the city was descending into chaos that Nott learned that Marlow had been killed by his sire, crucified in some mock representation for his crimes. Knowing he was gone, Selene completely snapped, allowing Caine to come forth. She committed several atrocities, including destroying an orphanage and the children inside due to her grief and irrationality.

When she managed to gain control, Nott fled to Tijuana to mourn the loss of her lover. She still keeps his badge on her person as a reminder of him.
